Compared to other forms of media, many forms of Japanese entertainment (including anime and manga) have been forerunners in the representation of genderqueer characters, however there are still many problems to be faced. In this presentation, we will discuss how genderqueer characters are currently represented and what improvements can be made.
Japan has always been on the forefront when it comes to pop-culture and animation, but they also have an impressive amount of diversity when it comes to characters and representation.
